Inthere are more than key events from arts, talks, culture and sports, to community and family events, to lots of fun things like our Pride dog show — and even Irish dancing. We felt we had to counter that and make a public statement of pride and defiance.

There may be spaces of celebration and expression in urban centres, but until every queer person in every rural community across this country can feel a valued part of society, we have to keep fighting.
